TreeViewX problems related to wxGTK
Hi,
I am sorry if you consider this post as misuse of this forum, since it is not related to DNALinux, but I think this is the place where I could find people who are interested in bioinformatics software on Linux. My problem is, that I would like to run TreeView ( http://darwin.zoology.gla.ac.uk/%7Erpage/treeviewx/ ) on a SuSE 9.1 system. Unfortunately this program requires wxGTK-2.3.x but the SuSE version is 2.4.2 (it does neither run nor compile with this version). I cannot downgrade since I run into dependency problems. Any ideas how I could solve this problem (or do you know alternative software that does the same job)? EDIT: I found njplot and unrooted for linux and will test it. |
I've never used it, but ATV uses Java and should be more portable.

That one looks really good.
I'll give it a try. Thanks! |
Hello,
In DNALinux we have a mailing list for bioinformatics issues like yours. The address is: DNALinux mailing list NJPlot is included in DNALinux, but fonts don't work properly, so you should use it if you know what the menues say (since you can't read the menues). |
