Zaurus sync problem

hi,

I have purchased Zaurus SL5500 and when connected to my Debian Linux
could successfully ping from both sides ie(from Z to Linux Box and vice-versa)

But facing problem while trying to Ftp from my Linux Box

getting the following error

Connected to 192.168.129.201
421 Service not available,Remote server has closed connection

Use a port scanner (i.e. nmap) to scan for open ports - ensure that port 21 is actually open. also, can you ftp from the same box the ftp server is running on?
ftp 127.0.0.1
