Xfree86 4.3 CDROM

I've got a few debian PCs I want to install Xfree86 4.3 on. So instead of downloading it over and over again I downloaded the contents of http://penguinppc.org/~daniels/sid/i386/ to my hard disk drive and then wrote it to the root of a CD. I've tired apt-cdrom add but it doesn't work. What else do I need to do? Any help would be great!

Is apt-cdrom a legitimate command? I would try mounting the cd and using 'apt-get install xfree86'. Make sure your cdrom drive is in your sources.list file.

That won't work either unless you make a 'Packages' list for apt to use, just install the packages with dpkg.

dpkg

With dpkg you can install only one file at a time and it will not resolve dependencies.:(

I was having a problem with this earlier... is there any way around it???? Although I suppose if you're getting the packages off the package site then you'd be able to go through and download the separate packages as well.

It would be nice if there was an apt-get function that would output the list of dependencies required for the package you want... in the order that they need to be installed.
