Xfree problems

Hey people,
I just did a fresh install of Debian/Sarge as i needed a bigger partition for it.
It was working fantastically before and I figured it wouldnt take me all that much to get everything back in order. Unfortunately once I installed my 2.6.9 kernel X wont work. It just spits out an error saying something about no local listening sockets. Im sure I have come across this before when moving from 2.4 to 2.6 but I cant remember what I have to do.

Any ideas.

This sounds very much like XFS is not running. Make sure that XFS (X Font Server) is running (typically it runs as a service).
