xdm to gdm?

as topic says.. when i start my debian etch system it enters xdm. but i want to use gdm. what do i need to do?

These commands in a terminal will suffice:

$ su
# apt-get install gdm
# dpkg-reconfigure gdm

After reconfiguring run setup and make gdm the way you like it to be.
