X Windows Auto-detect

I X installed. But it is not working. I have tried the configuration file, but no luck. I have an 11 Meg on board (video card on the mother board) Vid card. my model is not specificaly in the XF86Config file. I manually added it in. X will not start.

How do I get X to just automatically detect my Video Card?

try X -probeonly and look at the output (X won't start completely).
try X -configure to generate a configfile (which normaly is not much worth ;-)

read the docs and look for you card there. more infos would be nice.

You can also install mdetect (to auto-detect your mouse) and read-edid (to detect your monitor). Then run "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86".
