I followed the directions on a site in spanish. I got to the last step but not sure what to do. basically I made my own from the 7 tarballs on the x.org site (took 23 minutes to make!) then I installed it, made sym links, but I need to find a way to get deb to start from x.org instead of xfree86. This site mentioned using equivs-control to build fake packages or something like that but Im not sure since I'm a newbie. That's about all I can contribute.

I had no problem following the generic instructions. Everything went smoothly.

Considering that even in unstable, X is still on 4.3, I doubt you'll find any good X.org packages (which branch off of the prerelease immediately before X 4.4).
