I just installed woody (was using slack). Everything works fine, but X. I get lines where there weren't suposse to be any, buttons, dots, simbols and distorsion over my screen. I believe (could be mistaken) that the problem is video-card-related.
I have a pc100 sistemboard (M748lmrt). The chip on the card wich I believe it's the video one says: SIS 5595. Such chip does not appear on the xf86config list. MS Windows says it's a SIS 530 or 620 (not sure) but none work fine.
By the way, I've noticed that in the forum the only one (almost) with a hole in the middle of the evelope sign its me... does anybody knows what does that means?
I have an old machine with a similar chip, but the SIS driver seems to work for me? Maybe it has more to do with the color depth or resolution you are using?
Tried that... nothing happens....
This is weird, I changed the depth and resolution, but when i startx kde looks the same... as if I had changed nothing... check the file, and the changes are there... ¿?
I'm able to work (I'm on my linux box right now) but if pretty uglhy... for example, i have mad faces on my side bar and green ones on the Konqueror tasks bar... pretty hard to do anything.
