x cd-roast

I am trying to burn an ISO with X cd-roast. I know how to burn an ISO and I know how to use the program. I get an error when going to burn a cd on my drive. Here is the log output after a failed attempt...

Code:
Calling: /usr/lib/xcdroast/bin/xcdrwrap CDRECORD dev= "ATAPI:0,0,0" gracetime=2 fs=4096k driveropts=burnfree -v -useinfo driver=scsi2_cd speed=12 -dao -eject -pad -data "/home/alk3/debian/debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso" ...

cdrecord: Illegal write mode for this drive.
and thus may have bugs that are not present in the original version.
About a week ago I was burning an ISO and decided to stop it and got a warning box that said something about I may damage my drive or the cd if I cancel the process. Yes, I canceled the process before reading the whole dialog. *idiot* Im positive that is the problem, but I dont know what to do or how to fix this problem.

What do I need to do?

Thanks ahead of time.

Edit: Forgot to mention: Debian Sarge on a Dell Inspiron 1150-stock.

I kicked out X cd-roast with a steady 'apt-get remove --purge xcdroast.' I tried to use cdrecord and I was able to burn the iso image. Should have tried that first, delete please.
