wireless problems

Hi all
after running wireless for years my system crashed, I've had to re install lenny and now what ever I try I can't get the wireless to work. Something I've done many times before, but for the life of me I can't remember or find any real help off the net.

I'm running Lenny, kernel 2.6.26-2-686
but when I start up it doesn't seem to be able to start the wireless, whatever I do from gnome wireless tools,

dmesg | grep -i iwl

shows this

[ 9.663570] iwl3945: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG/BG Network Connection driver for Linux, 1.2.26ks

It looks like it cannot find the microcode it needs to upload to your device to make it work.
Try locate iwlwifi-3945-1

Did you see here: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/9374 ?

Take a look at http://wiki.debian.org/iwlwifi

You probably need the firmware.

firmware-iwlwifi - Binary firmware for Intel Wireless 3945, 4965 and 5000-series cards
