I have only been using linux for about a week now (deb sarge) and have mostly been trying out alternative apps. I read about siag office before i left satan gates os and thought it sounded nice. Checking the package lists for the 3 deb variants i noticed that siag is listed for woody but not sarge or sid. I have completely run out of search terms to find out why this is the case. So, I am wondering if anybody here know the answer?
?? sorry, it is siagoffice that i am after or, moreover, a reason why it disappeared from the package list between woody and sarge. Has it been absorbed by openoffice? I have looked at several office packages (OO included), my aim is to try as many as i can find before i settle on any one of them. In particular, i want to have a look at siagoffice's 'xfiler' (file manager). But mostly I want to know if there is any point persuing it, and knowing the reason it was dropped should answer this question.
i looked around after seeing comp12345's post and it seems there are a few dload sites hosting siag, only prob is that they all filed 'libMowitz0' under 'm'. lol, spent all day fuming that i couldn't get the dependancies.
as far as i can tell ulric eriksson is still maintaining it, so i doubt that is the prob. And the bug-reports filed against it seem minimal and non-critical... so i am really at a loss.
at any rate, i doubt this is something many peeps will care about so i will leave it here.
