which package is Java Virtual Machine?


I don't want to install binary package form SUN. may anyone tell me which package is jvm?

You wont find it on official debian reps. It takes a minute to make your own though.

Actually, you can install it with apt-get. Reading the post-install thread at the top of this forum, it explains how to install Java runtime environment. First add "deb ftp://ftp.tux.org/java/debian/testing non-free" to your sources.list file without the quotes. You can change testing to stable or unstable depending on your release. Then run apt-get update, and then follow up with apt-get install j2rel1.4. Next thing you know, you are running Java.
