Where to put iptables rules from Red Hat in Debian

I have some iptables rules in my Red Hat 9.0 system that I want to use on a new Debian system. On the Red Hat box these rules are in "/etc/rc.d/rc.local". Where do I put the "rc.local" file with the iptables rules in Debian. This script executed "after" all the other init scripts in Red Hat. I need this script to function the same in Debian.

Thanks

Put the script in : /etc/init.d/

execute :

"update-rc.d your_iptables_script defaults order_of_execution"

The argument defaults refers to the default runlevels, which are 2 through 5. The argument order_of_execution ensures that your_iptables_script is called at the desired order.

for more info ,try this links :

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I did some more reading and Googling and figured it out. I followed the same steps you outlined in your reply and it works!

When you get used to where the scripts are and how they are run on Red Hat it kinda spoils you. But, I am sticking with Debian for now and will take my lumps learning how it operates.
