If you didnt installed X11, if you have made a very clean install and you dont have the /etc/X11 folder to found the XF86 to configure the keyboard and saying that I dont want to use the kb*** tools that you found in the system, where is the configuration file to edit to change the keyboard type (us - abnt )?

I think /etc/init.d/keymap.sh reads /etc/console/boottime.kmap.gz

so if you want abnt2 , you can
Code:
cp /usr/share/keymaps/i386/qwerty/br-abnt2.kmap.gz /etc/console/boottime.kmap.gz
then vim /etc/console/boottime.kmap.gz to edit it
