A proxy server has been installed at 192.168.1.1. During the installation of debian (the part when we're asked on our proxy information during the apt configuration), the proxy information I keyed in was 192.168.1.1. However, the network administrator changed the IP address of the proxy server to 192.168.1.254. Which file should I ? In Firefox, this new IP address of the proxy server can be entered at Tools->Options->Connection Settings->Manual Proxy Configuration.. However for commandline application like ftp, which file should I edit to reflect the change in the IP address of my new proxy server?
I searched through /etc/network/interfaces, but it seems the IP address of the proxy server is not stored there.
Thanks for your help !
