Wheezy third party device driver

I'm running Wheezy and using the lirc 0.9.0 driver from lirc.org. At each reboot, it loses the driver and I have to reinstall it. I didn't have this problem in any previous version of Debian. If Debian's M-A/A-I ritual is required, I guess I'm stuck with writing a startup script.

Did you add an appropriate entry in /etc/modprobe.d/whatever?
