Never use it but I have noticed with LILO sometimes it is hit and miss when it gets upgraded and you need to run /sbin/lilo to have it write to the MBR again perhaps you should do whatever it is in grub you do to write to the MBR and see if that helps, you will probably want to check the config files to make sure they are right as well and may a look at http://bugs.debian.org and do search on grub to see if anyone else is having problems.

hi,

boot from the CD
then chroot to where it is mounted
like
#chroot /mnt/sysimage (maybe different)
#grub-install /dev/hda (if hda is the HDD )
reboot
and dual boot is back

regards.

usually updates do not affect grub's menu.lst .

go to your /boot/grub/menu.lst and look at the example for dual booting.
Edit accordingly.

don't forget to:

#update-grub
reboot
