What type of file system? ntfs, ext2fs, etc.

What type of file system does Debian use?

One thing's for sure: it won't use NTFS. This page says it uses ext3 as default, but you can probably choose.

I'm trying to mount a Debian Partition in FreeBSD and don't know the devices name, nor the file system type.

Hi,

A Debian partition can have different filesystems, ext2, ext3, ReiserFS, Jfs, Xfs ...
Go to the FreeBSD site : http://www.freebsd.org/
There is all the info necessary, FreeBSD is very well documented, just read..

hi there,
you can use the command "fdisk -l" to see the disk partitions and the specifications such as filesysytem, size etc....
