what to do? gpg error on apt-get update

I get this error on the http://http.us.debian.org/ testing and unstable branches:
Quote:

W: GPG error: unknown error executing gpgv
If I upgrade it says it can't autencicate packages from these 2 branches. Is there an error on my end and how do I fix it. gnupg is the newest version. SID

It's more specific now. It says that there's no public key available :S That's not an error on my end isn't it?

Do you have something like apt-check-sigs (available here or, officially here) installed? Are you using something from experimental (relevant thread here)? Otherwise I don't know why apt is even touching gpgv.

Thanks I'm now doing a suggestion from the thread. Hope it goes well :)

Importing the gpg keys didn't work. Guess you don't want to know I had apt-pinning set to experimental  Quickly changed it back to unstable lol that solved it together with downgrading apt

My guess is we'll see debian-keys as a requirement in unstable too, eventually. Glad it's fixed now though.

I installed debian-keyring but that didn't solve it for all or for none. Can't remember, it should work with unstable and the rest was still bad. But I also read it had something to do with a compromise and the GPG keys not being reset or changed or whatever.

I've also had this problem, but it was due to a faulty bat in my laptop. The system time was in the past and apt didn't like it. reset the system time and AOK!
