What about having Debian Lenny Stable, with ZFS like Solaris and BSD for harddisks?

ZFS is better than EXT3 because Servers are using it, such as Solaris. Nothing better. Can Linux Debian Lenny Stable use ZFS too? What about it?

There is a FUSE (user space) read-only capability for Linux. It sucks, and isn't worth using. ZFS cannot be ported as a kernel-resident native filesystem in Linux because of licensing issues.

More servers use ext3 than zfs.

You can try using xfs. It's a pretty high performance file system.
