Wouldn't it just be easier to get ethernet working in Morphix Gamer and take it from there? If I can figure that out I think I'll learn more than using Sarge instead.

It's your computer, you can do what you want with it.

The best place to ask for help in Morphix-related problems is Morphix forum:

Maybe we should just give Knoppix and Morphix their own forums. I'd rather post here than at sourceforge (Don't ask why.). I've already filed a bug report with the Morphix team about my ethernet not working. What more do you want Dead Parrot?

Sounds like you've done The Right Thing (TM) reporting a possible bug so that Morphix developers can fix it.

However, if it really is a bug, there's little we can do about it (except wait for the next Morphix release). If there's a workaround to this networking bug, then people who actively use Morphix are more likely to know about it than people in general Debian forum.

Edit:

Here's a guide for configuring network connection under Debian: http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/re...ateway.en.html

You can also try installing the config utilities "ethtool" and "etherconf" to see if they do a better job than Morphix's network config tool.

Hope this helps.
