webserver problems...


Let me explain...

New Sarge install
Linux utserver 2.6.8-2-386 #1 Tue Aug 16 12:46:35 UTC 2005 i686 GNU/Linux

Apache works fine on port 80
Unreal Tournament server works fine on port 7777

Unreal Tournament Web admin doesnt work remotely...

If I start lynx on the debian box and go to http://127.0.0.1:8888/ServerAdmin I put in the username and password and it works. If on another machine I put in http://192.168.0.4:8888/ServerAdmin, I get

You have to allow remote connections the the unreal web interface. Look here for more info http://www.unrealadmin.org/

I looked at their site, including the tutorials on setting up the web admin, to no avail...

It's all as it should be...

I don't understand why it should work locally and not ovet the network...

And thanks for your help

Many browser configuration menus can be configured by default to only allow localhost (127.0.0.1) access. cups, webmin, swat are several that come to mind. I am unfamilar with unreal so check the configuration files for allowing remote access.

ok, I've solved it... it seems so stupid now...

two problems...

1: ALWAYS remember the trailing / on the end of the address name.
2: Upgrade UT to the UTPG 451 where they fixed the webadmin
