OK peeps I'm gettin ready to upload the RC1 now

be ready bout 6PM eastern US time

note that it will go right on usb with Unetbootin
although if you wanna run persistent cd/usb
you gotta make a live-rw file or partition
http://live.debian.net/manual/html/persistence.html

also, the reason I installed remastersys was not only to make a backup cd of your system
but remastersys actually has a nice hdd installer for lenny

what do you mean troop?
yeah its a almost-700MB iso
its a real debian live build customized baby!
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/re...e/i386/iso-cd/

basically; I ran live-magic and made the standard non-x i386 iso
then I cracked er open
started chrooting and adding everything, while also not making any users, etc
then patched it back together and started taking it thru stages
stage 1 was to get xorg and flluxbox/blackbox going
stage2 adding all the other wm's and other apps
stage 3 booting the stages off usb and running persistent in order to customize desktops etc
stage 4 adding everything from persistent usb in ~/home/user and ~/root to /etc/skel and /root respectively
note etc/skel is what populates ~/home/name
stage 5 cleaning up and settign up boot stuff

eek, adding xfprot made it too big...oh well clamav is good enough aint it?
its got a gui too

anyway, its a real debian live build,
2 kernels
2.6.26-2-486
2.6.26-2-686

and its cool as default "live user" has some root privys

you can make a root passwd and log in to root dektop too
its set up

Remember; in Debian Live the user "user" is created at boot
and is auto logged into default desktop
user's passwd is "live"
also, you get to root by doing "sudo su" as in Ubuntu

username: user
password: live

username: root
password: no password

or you mean put it in the theme.cfg for whatever style?

like, say heres morte style; do I put it here or what?
Yes. ~/.fluxbox/styles/ is a directory of different styles, rather than a style itself. So yes, the code I was referring to would go into the different style files within the ~/.fluxbox/styles directory (or the directory where you've set up different styles, such as /usr/share/fluxbox/styles/. In either directory, you can find either simple text files, or cfg files (I'm not sure what, exactly, is the difference between each of these, since they both seem to do the same thing). Anyway, within one of these styles (IE, the default one that you set up), I figure you may wish to have it choose a new and random picture file (IE, jpeg, png, or tiff) for the background each time, from a directory that you've set up with numerous interesting picture files, rather than have the same background show up. Typically, a background directory is set up in the user's home directory (~/.fluxbox/backgrounds/) for this, but also a system-wide directory, such as /usr/share/wallpapers/, can be used.

When you added the above mentioned code to your morte style, did it work to give you new backgrounds from the specified image directory each time upon reloading of the style?
