VPN Client and outside connections
Really need some assistance here as privateinternetaccess.com is not very helpful.
Some background information:
I am new to linux I've only dabbled but I have been unable to find information on this issue while searching the web so hopefully someone can point me in the proper direction.
My Network setup:
MODEM - ROUTER - 7 PC/TABLETS/PHONES (DEVICES)
The PC in question is the debian machine which I am running a media center on the problem I am having is connecting outside of the network for example while from my phone.
I am using OpenVPN and VPN Service from PrivateInternetAccess. I want all my connections to go through VPN, however I want to be able to connect to inbound ports from external devices for example
Phone LTE - EXTERNALIP:EXTPORT - INTERNALIP:INTPORT
All the forwarding was working fine before putting it behind a VPN, the vpn client is configured on the debian server. If I add the route-nopull to the openvpn configure it then identifies with my non vpn ip which puts me outside of the vpn at that point which makes it useless, so I need to know how I properly go about forwarding the IP address (I guess internally?) so that vpn can run along side of the inbound connections on certain internal ports.
Please help me out as this is all new to me and none could help me at privateinternetaccess as debian is not a support device but ubuntu is.. go figure..
