vmware problem

Hi, I compiled my own kernel-2.6.16 and named it as 2.6.16-tony. Installation of vmware was successfully complete, but when it need my kernel header path to compile its own modules, such message occured:

****************************************************************
The kernel defined by this directory of header files does not have the same
address space size as your running kernel.
****************************************************************

I am very sure where my kernel location is. How to solve that problem? Thanks.
