Using a proxy server

Hi all.

I'm using a grandchild of debian ( morphix) with a proxy server, but the only Internet app that I can get to work is the web browser. The proxy is on 192.168.0.200:8080 for example. I've tried setting the PROXY environment variable and used wget to trying to download any file or website, but this fails with an unknow host error.

I also tried the apt-setup program to set my proxy to http://192.168.0.200:8080 but it also returns the same error.

How do I set it up so that at least the dns name gets resolved.

Thanks in advance

In the apt-setup try specfiying the proxy address and port without the "http://" prefix.
Make sure as well that you specfiy the nameservers in the /etc/resolv.conf file.
Hope this helps.
