Angry user name and password for Debian Live i686

I've been a Linux user for 11 years. I'm not new to the ways of live cd's. I am unable to get past the logon screen in Debian Live.

I have tried "live" for the user name without a password - and with root as a password. NOTHING I've tried works.

Anybody got an idea?

Hello,

Normally, as far as I know, the 'live user' is created and automatically logged in. If you're presented with a logon screen try debian/debian as username/password combo (that worked in the older versions). Since you didn't mention your version of LiveCD....

Kind regards,

Eric

Here's something more, from: http://wiki.debian.org/DebianLive/FA...serpassword.3F

Quote:
Q: What is the root /user password?

A: The user password for the live user is 'live'.
By default, there is not any root password.
You can switch to root with sudo -i or set a password for root with sudo passwd.
But, we don't know if you are using this particular version/release of LiveCD, so.. Good luck
