Use testing on email server to get newer packages or install from source?
I switched my RH box to a Debian 3 stable box (and love it!). Right now I'm running postfix w/ virtual users/domains and courier. Id like to implement clamav w/ amavis-new and possibly spamassassin, but I only get spamassassin in stable. So should I upgrade a production server to testing or should I keep what I have and deal w/ source etc.? The thing I really like about Debian is apt-get but I'd like to bump up the protection (spam + virii).
I'd like some opinions from more experienced Debian users. Is it true that only stable is kept patched?
Thanks,
Mike
