upgraded to sid, ignored cc mismatch and X wont start

Hi all, writing this in links... pretty frustrating but Im getting used to it... started of with a small woody installation, updated to sid, installed x and got it working unaccelerated, killed X, downloaded the kernel headers and of we go... the nvidia drivers installed (the latest version) and nervously editing XF86Config-4 I wrote startx... since im writing this in links you know my problem... x wont start at all! Not even if I try running it unaccelerated (driver: nv) and the error I get is just:
(EE) Problem parsing the config file
(EE) Error from xf86HandleConfigfile()
fatal server error:
No screens found
the Nvidia drivers complained about a cc mismatch and since I didnt see any other solution: export IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH=yes.
I really need some enemy territory so Ive got to solve this NOW!!!!!! HEEEEEELLLLPPPP!!!
Cheers,Klod (on second thought, links is kinda nice, I dont need x..._)

???
did you re-run the x-config to tell it which monitor you have????
it doesn't always work running with a generic monitor... try re-running the x-config and maybe try a lower setting????
the error messages are pointing me to a re-run need.
sorry, best i've got right now.......

Thanks for your reply, I usually change everything manually since dpkg wrecks my mouse settings (usb), but I ran the configurer and after that I didnt get any error messages... just a black screen, switching terminal and reading the xlog gave me nothing. It claims that everythings detected, no errors or anything!!__
Cheers, Klod
