Post Upgrade Debian Wheezy to Jessie.

Hello.
I want to upgrade my Wheezy X64 to Jessie X64 but how can I understanding that this upgrade can't hurt my system? For example, I use some Applications but are they available on Jessie too? How can I examine it?

Can you show me the complete guide for doing it?

Thank you.

The proper way to do the upgrade is to read the release notes first, they show what to do and which problems are known that may occur. Of course, as with any system critical operation, it is recommended to make a backup first, problems can always occur and if it is only a power outage in the middle of the upgrade process.

Regarding the applications, if you want to know for specific packages use the Debian package search to look if a package is present in Jessie: https://www.debian.org/distrib/packages

We can't say, that you have to determine for yourself, dependent on how your current system is set up. The release notes describe the upgrade procedure pretty well, just follow the instructions.
