upgrade breaks phpldapadmin

Recently did an apt-get upgrade, and phpldapadmin moved up to version 0.9.7. The config.php file has changed completely, and no matter how I change it, I cannot get the login to work. This is the same on 2 separate servers, and is a significant pain!

Anybody else use phpldapadmin, and how have you survived the upgrade?

This is why you don't use testing/unstable on servers... especially if you don't have the apt-listbugs and reportbug packages installed.
If you have the reportbug package installed, report a bug using it or report one manually. Info is here.

Thanks for the comment

Yeah, I'm aware of the challenges, but testing has proved pretty stable, and hasn't really bitten me too badly so far. The plus side is access to much newer versions of packages, with better functionality.

I found the answer eventually, so incase anyone else has the problem, it was phpldapadmin specific, and related to the new config.php file format introduced by 0.9.7 - it needs the login attribute set to "dn".

Thanks for pointing out the bug reporting stuff, I will make use of that in future!
