I have a system that does tha ton occasion because it loads the ieee1394 (firewire) port as an ethernet port.. which pushes the NIC back to eth1..

Doesn't happen all the time, but on occasion.. wierd I know. Someday I'll take the time to track down and kill the eth module for the ieee1394 port.
