Question Update libc6

How can I update libc6 on Debian Sarge from Etch? Is there a risk in doing that?

I am in no way positive about this, but I think that updating something as central as libc6 would require updating many other packages. To see what would be updated, you can try the following command.
aptitude --simulate install libc6/testing

Do you want to run libc6 from Etch on your Sarge machine? It'll work, technically, but when installing it, it'll complain that it wants to upgrade your entire system. So, either do the full Monthy and upgrade to Etch or forget the whole exercise altogether...

Little risk: nothing from sarge might work anymore

Depends on from what version to what version you want to move.
