http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/...binary-1.jigdo is the newest I can find, and that was created on the 7th of June... If not jigdo, is there at least a way I can get a list of the security update debs to manually download?
Edit: Just reading about how to update the installer to put new packages in... too much work I'll just download the updates when I have debian installed, just like everyone else

I have only started to use jigdo recently, I have no idea when they are going to update the templates... There have been some major updates, such as xfree and koffice.
Out of the 14CDs of Sarge, if i just need very basic applications, how many CD do i need to have? Of course, i need CD 1 to boot up, if i have up to 4 CDs, are they enough?
I asked so coz i failed to get DVD.
...in most cases it is not necessary to download all of the images for your architecture. The packages are sorted by popularity: The first CD/DVD contains the installation system and the most popular packages. The second one contains slightly less popular ones, the third one even less popular ones, etc. You will probably only need the first DVD (or the first two CDs) unless you have very special requirements. (And in case you happen to need a package later on which is not on one of the CDs/DVDs you downloaded, you can always install that package directly from the Internet.)
Why not just use the 100 MB Netinstall ISO... it will download all the latest packages DURING install so you shouldn't have anything to update when you're done..
it's a lot faster than downloading multiple CD images, a DVD image or making your own Up to date image.. imho and if you feel adventurous you can use expert mode and have it install testing or unstable with the 2.6 kernel from the get go.. this is the only way I install Debian anymore..
