Uninstalling Compiz-Fusion ate up all title bars!

This is a weird situation! After
Quote:

aptitude purge compiz-fusion && fusion-icon
title bars of all windows have vanished.

Could they be brought back?

Do you have metacy installed?

TristanDee 09-27-2008 12:44 AM

Do you mean Metacity? Compiz had an option for using Metacity but I never used it. I believe Metacity also went with uninstalling Compiz.

Metacity is what I meant, yes (:p). If if went during the removing of compiz, you need to reinstall it or another WM.

Actually, I wanted to get rid of Compiz as it seemed quite a resource hog. But, doesn't uninstalling Compiz activate Gnome's WM capacity back?

I think vanished-title-bar has something to do with the "window decoration" tasks of Emarald, which I was using in Compiz.

Then reinstall metacity,openbox, what ever you want. That should fix it.
