Unable to install NVIDIA driver 195.36.24 after kernel upgrade
 

After upgrading kernel package to 2.6.32-5 NVIDIA installation gave me
ERROR:Unable to load the kernel module 'nvidia.ko'. This happens most
frequently when this kernel module was built against the wrong or
improperly configured kernel sources, with a version of gcc that differs from the one used to build the target kernel, or if a driver such as rivafb/nvidiafb is present and prevents the NVIDIA kernel module from
obtaining ownership of the NVIDIA graphics device(s), or NVIDIA GPU
installed in this system is not supported by this NVIDIA Linux graphics driver release.

Just guessing...

When you updated the kernel, did you also update the kernel headers?

I'm assuming that you are running the NVidia installer (which compiles the driver against the current kernel headers). If the headers don't match the current kernel, then things will not go well.....

My distro is sid and all worked excelent with old kernel 2.6.32-3 and NVIDIA 195.36.15.

The good news: NVidia supplies a Linux driver

The bad news: It changes constantly. I have had occassions where I could not use the latest driver with a particular kernel.

My system (Arch) supplies binaries of the NVidia driver. For the 2.6.33 kernel, they are offering nvidia 195.36.15

If that version worked for you previously, you might try it again.

I tryed and problem is steel here. I think thet is some problem with kernel....

Try using smxi.

I just glanced at that site and it is not obvious to me how it is relevant to installing an NVidia driver.

Smxi is a console run script that will install the Nvidia driver for you,as well as many other tasks.
Very easy to use.

195.36.24 installed just fine here using smxi. Fully upgraded Debian sid with a liquorix kernel.

Thanks to all for helping me.
It seems that problem is compiler version. My compiler version is gcc-4.4, compiler version used to build deb package of kernel 2.6.32-5 is gcc-4.3. Finally i decided to build my own deb package of kernel 2.6.33.3 using gcc-4.4. After all i install new kernel deb package (image and headers) and installation of NVIDIA driver 195.36.24 pass without any problem.
My system:sid_64 bit;kernel 2.6.33.3; NVIDIA driver 195.36.24
Intel Quad 9450;8GB RAM;
NVIDIA Quadro 3700; X.Org.1.7.7; ASUS VH242H res.:1920x1080;
Finally my system speed increase 10-15%, apps speed increase 10-20% (SALOME, ELMER, VARICAD, GMSH, SCILAB....etc...)and all work fine.
Another way is to change CC environment variable but is bug-i work. I did not try smxi because is not debian way.

Neither is installing using the Nvidia installer. Which btw is what smxi uses. But each to his/her own. Glad you finally got it working.

I just installed gcc-4.3 and set it as default gcc until i installed the driver. Then linked back gcc-4.4.
