Ubuntu Ultimate Edition repository for Debian

I want to add repository from them to Debian. Somehow i can't see which one would fit and somehow it just doesn't seem to work. Is there something different to be done despite UUE being Ubuntu being Debian?

It isn't going to work. (Check the date on that site---2009!)

I would have a look at Jessie (experimental but stable) or Sid (cutting edge but supposedly volatile i.e: system disclaimers and such,) I run two Debians one each and like the results.

What's in Ultimate Edition that's not available from the Debian repositories?
Canonical add some things that aren't in Debian and, far as I know, change some libraries for more up to date ones and that kind of thing. So, I'm not convinced you could add any repository meant for Ubuntu to Debian. But, in my experience, there's not much that you can't find for Debian especially, as jamison20000e mentions, you run Sid and are willing to use experimental packages.
I'm sorry this isn't an answer to the original question but if you've a package in mind it may be you don't need that repository.

Adding repositories and/or packages intended for Ubuntu on a Debian system often isn't worth the time it can take to repair the system. Ubuntu and Debian are not binarily compatible. That does not mean you can't install packages intended for Ubuntu on Debian but it does mean if you do so you need to be capable of fixing any breakages.

I'm the Operating System architect and leading developer of Ultimate Edition Linux. I own and maintain 11 or 12 servers, the repository in question is old and quite unmaintained. I have software called repostorm in works to automate the process of repository management. I do have repositories on http://themelinux.com/ and 3 repositories currently not open to the public on http://os-builder.com/

I do have applications I have developed I see no issue in running on Debian. http://forumubuntusoftware.info/view...hp?f=23&t=9480
Your milage may vary, those are all CLI based applications, I have also written GUI based applications Ultimate Player, Ultamatix and I am working on a replacement for fusion-icon. Way too much on my plate ;)

You don't reply to posts or emails. Why is that?

TheeMahn 05-27-2014 04:07 AM

I have over 100,000 unread emails I simply do not possess the time. It grows at a phenomenal rate.

Yet you have the time to post about Repostorm on numerous forums and not respond to replies about it on those forums.

Are you happy now, 2 years later? I have been shut down by multiple entities. I have moved Petabytes of information. I think I must have been talking shit. Google repostorm IT IS DOWN, can not imagine why. That is how I found this very website. I had 11 servers on Gigabit connections. Eat a bag of dicks, lol Did you know I still have a single server up right now and I spend my time singling out "Trolls and dicks" such as yourself, one would like to think that I would hold a grudge, no I am here to educate you. You will have to get through the 2 years of grudge, I did hold for you. I forgive and move on. In a couple months I will bring all servers back online. It is a matter of finance currently, getting married, buying a house etc and taking on extra-curricular activities has helped, the end adjustment is you biting your tongue.
