Two generic network cards won't work with Debian

I have two network interfaces on my primary computer, and I am attempting to install Debian. One card is built onto the motherboard, and one card in a PCI slot has the letters "SMC" on its main chip. Debian doesn't have hardware detection like other distro's have, and I have no idea what driver to look for. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I have gotten my PCI card to work with the "dummy" driver....any suggestions with the onboard LAN? Can I load the driver twice?

Check your motherboard manufacturer's site (or the manual, if you have one and its detailed) and find out what the chipset for the LAN adaptor is. Once you have that, you can find out what module you need to load or compile in. Good luck
