TVtime and ATI fglrx driver issue..

OK,,,with the xorg radeon driver tvtime worked fine..But after installing fglrx driver from lenny i have issues with jerky playback..I can smooth it out by setting tvtime frame rate from 60 to half..but its still noticeable. When I run it from command line with tvtime -v I see this..
strat@razor:~$ tvtime -v
Running tvtime 1.0.2.
Reading configuration from /etc/tvtime/tvtime.xml
Reading configuration from /home/strat/.tvtime/tvtime.xml
cpuinfo: CPU AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2200+, family 6, model 8, stepping 1.
cpuinfo: CPU measured at 1822.610MHz.
tvtime: Cannot set priority to -10: Permission denied.
xcommon: Display :0.0, vendor The X.Org Foundation, vendor release 10402000
xfullscreen: Single-head detected, pixel aspect will be calculated.
xfullscreen: Pixel aspect ratio on the primary head is: 16/15 == 1.07.
xfullscreen: Using the XFree86-VidModeExtension to calculate fullscreen size.

xcommon: Have XTest, will use it to ping the screensaver.

xcommon: Displaying in a 768x576 window inside 768x576 space.
xvoutput: Using XVIDEO adaptor 131: ATI Radeon Video Overlay.
speedycode: Using MMXEXT optimized functions.
station: Reading stationlist from /home/strat/.tvtime/stationlist.xml
videoinput: Using video4linux2 driver 'bttv', card 'BT878 video (Hauppauge (bt878))' (bus PCI:0000:00:0c.0).
videoinput: Version is 2321, capabilities 5010015.
videoinput: Maximum input width: 768 pixels.
tvtime: Sampling input at 768 pixels per scanline.
xcommon: Pixel aspect ratio 1:1.
xcommon: Displaying in a 768x576 window inside 768x576 space.
xcommon: Received a map, marking window as visible (65).
xcommon: Window fully obscured, marking window as hidden (65).

I noticed that it said it cannot set priority to -10..permission denied..
I tried to run it as root but all I got was..

strat@razor:~$ su
Password:
razor:/home/strat# tvtime -v
Running tvtime 1.0.2.
Reading configuration from /etc/tvtime/tvtime.xml
Reading configuration from /root/.tvtime/tvtime.xml
cpuinfo: CPU AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2200+, family 6, model 8, stepping 1.
cpuinfo: CPU measured at 1822.603MHz.
No protocol specified
xcommon: Cannot open display ':0.0'.
razor:/home/strat#

Im not sure If the priority issue is the problem for jerky playback..Anyone with tv card and ati driver using TVtime with this problem?or better yet..solution..

I haven't used tvtime on a box with an fglrx driver, but have you tried running it with sudo (instead of su) to see if that helps with the potential priority problem? Do other video playback programs have problems with your fglrx driver?
