Trying to choose an nvidia card

I am planning to purchase an nVidia video card today and will be installing it on my 2.6 Sarge box.

Are there certain brands that tend to work better on Debian than others?

Thanks

Nvidia cards are supported by the official nvidia drivers. Check out the nvidia site. The new cards are supported by it. Old cards (like TNT Riva) are supported by the nvidia-glx package.

Yeah, just get something new.

Thanks a lot for the replies.

I ended up with a PNV-Verto, GeForce 6200, AGP 8X, 128MB DDR.

I was going to take my time and be a bit more calculating on my selection but the need for instant gratification prevails once again.

I've read that installing nVidia can be a real ***** but I'm sure I'll get through it. ;)

There's not much that can go wrong. Most of the times you'll be ok :)
