the installer didn't find the iso file

Hi,
I used the kernel from hd-media and put the cd1 iso in the usb.
I followed the directions to install linux from usb, it ran correctly , I mean the boot, choice of keyboard , language, the iso file.
Then the system couldn't continue it searched for the CDROM !!!?? It seem that the path for packges is the CDROM instead of the USB!!

thanks for help
bela

I think the explanation is easier than the solution, but it's doable: /etc/apt/sources.list (or, which makes the problem worse, a different file that's used for the purpose of providing repository paths) will contain links to either /cdrom or /media/cdrom or similar, which are the usual mountpoints for CDs (the second is, but I don't know for sure in case of the installer). The solution would (most certainly) be to adapt the sources.list (or the file in question, should it be another one). But I'm not able to give you any details, sorry.

Maybe some of the experts can take over from here.

I used these directions when creating my Debian Lenny, bootable USB Flash net-installer and it worked perfectly..
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianAcerOne...d2247b170eaf9c
Quote:
# zcat /path/to/boot.img.gz > /dev/sdz

Afterwards, mount the flash drive and copy over the net-install ISO file.
what directions did you follow ?
