system information


i would like to ask if anyone knows any good utility that can show me in the system tray, or on the desktop, information about my system,
like cpu speed, ram,...

gkrellm, torsmo, gdesklets, adesklets...

To get a package description: "apt-cache show package_name".

To get info on how to use installed applications: www.google.com, /usr/share/doc/package_name, "man some_command".

Though I've only installed it yesterday, it looks like a good eye candy http://www.superkaramba.com/ and you can do a lot more then sys info, (weather plugin is great) .
