Switching back to kde in unstable

I just dist-upgraded from woody to unstable and Debian has switched me from my kde desktop into gnome. I want to switch back, but can't find the right conf file to edit. I was expecting to find a .xinitrc or a .xsession file, but neither seems to exist. Any ideas?

thx

What display manager is running (if any)?

Well you can always create the file(s) and it(they) will be used. If you just want to get back to the KDM greeter screen instead of the GDM then use update-alternatives --config x-session-manager as root and change it back.
