Supermount in Sarge?

Hi,

How to use supermount in Debian/Sarge? I've tried to the debian package for the supermount but I only found the kernel patch for 2.4 kernel. Now I'm using kernel 2.6.8-1, is there any debian packages for the patch for kernel 2.6 or should I recompile the kernel source to apply a patch?

Sorry for my english

Thanks.

debian, i dont think has a kernel w/supermount. ur going to have to add the patch urself, but supermount is only available for kernel 2.6.3 and below.

Try using autofs instead. It's a bit more complicated to set up, but it's more flexible in the end, I believe, and it runs on all systems without having to futz with the kernel.

Thanks for the reply!

Now I just start working to try the autofs. Actually I don't really care whether I can do automount like in windows or not, but my friend that just installed Linux feels that it is annoying to type mount and umount command.....
