Has anyone moved to the newer SCSI (libata drivers) on their Debian system? Basically this replaces the existing IDE/ATAPI driver found in Linux kernel. A direct effect of this move is that all instances of "/dev/hd*" are now referred to as "/dev/sd*".
The linux kernel does provide libata drivers for my IDE controller. Should I move to this system? What are the pros and cons?
For those who don't know what I am talking about please refer to

Thanks.
