Subversion download error

I haven't been using subversion for a long time so I'm not sure if the error is caused by the download server or due to faulty settings (it used to just work btw). Since a coule of days trying to checkout (or update) the latest release I get this:

Code:
powadha@debian:~$ svn checkout http://svn.madwifi.org/trunk madwifi-ng

svn: REPORT request failed on '/!svn/vcc/default'
svn: REPORT of '/!svn/vcc/default': 400 Bad Request (http://svn.madwifi.org)
powadha@debian:~$
powadha@debian:~$
Running the checkout as root gives the same error.
Any ideas?

Regards
