strange mouse behaviour with logitech pilot mouse in debian 3.0r2

I installed debian 3.0r2.
When x starts up the it is possible to move the mouse, but the mouse does strange things.

Moving the mouse results in accidental double-klicks, the mouse opens menues, drages objects, drags the task-bat and so on.

I already tried to configure xf86config in /etc/X11 using the Microsoft, Logitech; mouse Systems protocol and tried the 2 button and the 3 button protocol.

I use a logitech pilot mouse with 3 buttons but no wheel on serial port 2.
