Step by step to a multimedia fluxbox
Does anyone know of a guide that says how to get from a base install of debian to a fluxbox desktop with full multimedia support, w32codecs and everything? The way I currently have it is a bit manged and hashed together because I just made it up as I went along. Figured i should do it properly, and then it might work a bit better :p
So from the command prompt after a base install of sarge what do I need to do? |
what do you expect to get from a howto? just install the relevant packages...
apt-get install fluxbox apt-get install mplayer etc... |
It's not that simple though. apt-get install x-window-system-core is just one of the many things that didn't even occur to me to install.

Try dl SimplyLinux bk by jetzblack for debiab install/config/desktop config guide or Robert Story's Debian install config articles. There are links at post-install config post at top of this forum. Good luck.
