Splash screen servers?

I've tried to figure out how to get a bootsplash working. But on www.desktop-linux.net the site they give does not work in my /etc/apt/sources.list and I don't know which thing to download. Does anyone know of a site I can add to my sources.list that will allow me to choose what to download? I was also wondering if there is a site that gives screenshots for splash screens so that I can see which one I want to use?

Though I've never gotten Bootsplash to work for me (but I have a graphical Grub), these are the essential links:

http://www.bootsplash.org/
http://www.bootsplash.de/

You may also want to take a look at this thread:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ght=bootsplash

and a thread on the Debian-Desktop mailinglist regarding future bootsplash support...

ok, now I try to follow the instructions on www.desktop-linux.net/bootsplash.htm, and it downloads all the file lists, but hangs at something like
Quote:
[waiting for headers] 77%
any ideas?
