Hi

thinking how to test if the sound is working on my debian unstable 2.6.15 or not, I
installed saytime which is suppostto speak out the time when invoked.
but I am not getting any sound from the speakers which are working when I
boot into WinDos since my system is duel boot.

thanks

I assume you verified that /dev/audio exists?

yes it is there, I just want the minimum requierment to be able to hear some sound from some web sites, one is http://www.kiddonet.com/gb/flash/phonics/intro.html and http://www.learningplanet.com/act/fl/aact/index.asp

and realy don't know how all this sound stuff work, I read there is lots of sound file formats, and losts of packages, but the most common are MP3 and MIDI, well, from the address above it may be flash miromedia file but I really don't know how to approch this.

when I go to the links above I get popups saying
This Activity needs Shockwave Flash version 4 or higher
You can download it from http://www.macromedia.com
